Devon Preparatory School, a Catholic college preparatory school for young men in grades six to twelve, is seeking a responsible and reliable maintenance member.

Summary:
The Maintenance and Custodial Worker is responsible for overseeing the cleanliness, maintenance, and overall safety of a small high school campus.
The maintenance work consists of minor repairs including but not limited to, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, painting, and plumbing.
This role involves coordinating other custodial personnel.
The ideal candidate will have some experience as a handyman and a commitment to maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff.
Responsibilities May Include:
Maintenance and Repairs:
Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing damaged furniture or fixtures.
Maintain equipment, including HVAC systems, plumbing fixtures, and electrical outlets, reporting any issues or concerns to the appropriate personnel.
Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for larger repairs or maintenance projects.
Custodial Duties:
Perform custodial tasks, including cleaning classrooms, offices, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
Ensure that all cleaning activities are carried out to a high standard, adhering to established procedures and schedules.
Assist with specialized cleaning tasks, such as carpet shampooing, window washing, and floor polishing as needed.
Respond promptly and efficiently to cleaning emergencies, spills, and accidents.
Safety and Security:
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, including fire safety protocols, emergency exits, and the safe storage of hazardous materials.
Report any safety hazards or concerns to the designated personnel and take appropriate actions to address them.
Collaboration and Communication:
Foster positive working relationships with school administration, staff, and faculty, providing regular updates on maintenance and cleaning activities.
Collaborate with other members of the school community to ensure a clean and organized environment for various events and activities.
Provide assistance and support during school events or special projects as required.
Qualifications:
Valid Driver's License High school diploma or equivalent.
Proven experience in custodial services and general maintenance.
Knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
Familiarity with basic repair tasks and use of common hand and power tools.
Understanding of safety protocols and willingness to adhere to them.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs) when necessary.
Ability to stand, reach, bend, push and pull equipment Flexibility to work evenings or weekends, as required.
Ability to to work with others and take direction from supervisor Pass background check (Child Abuse, Criminal and FBI Fingerprint) Note:
